Bio

Based in New York City, Michael Langsner grew up in central New Jersey where his musical life started with piano lessons at age 6. With an eventual transition to guitar a few years later, music became an integral part of Michael’s life leading to high school cover bands, jazz combos, choir, funk bands, and eventually writing and performing his own songs as a singer/songwriter.

As a guitarist, Michael has always been drawn to prominent guitar players such as Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Eric Clapton among others. He blends that love of guitar playing with an affinity for songwriting and the craft of such artists as John Mayer, Ray Lamontagne, and Gregory Alan Isakov. As a songwriter, his music blends his guitar-forward approach to writing with pop sensibilities and carefully constructed lyrics, leaving room for remnants of his jazz and funk band experience to weave their way in for instrumental solos.
